Respect For The Aardvark
As difficult as it may be to chose that one defining
moment in one's life that changed everything
along the path that followed I must say that the
General Dynamics F-111-D Fighter Bomber did
that for me and for many reasons.
It was the only aircraft to incorporate a self
contained ejection CAPSULE for the crew
It carried it's own life support systems
The aircraft used SMDC - Shielded Mild
Detonation Cord and other high tech explosives
The Capsule had its own independent rocket
propulsion system
Nitrogen, oxygen, JP-4, hydraulics, high pressure
gas systems, life support systems, air attenuation
systems, hard ride TFR or terrain following radar,
RAM - other wise known as radar absorption
material, RAZOR systems and more...just to name
a few.
The technology of this aircraft alone drove me
headlong into a huge career full of Space
Technology, Test Beds and more.
So hats off to the AARDVARK
The Australians love this aircraft and we had a pilot exchange
program for many years. I lost a dear friend to the aircraft on a
bombing range in very similar to this one in the above video.
Captain Troster, RAF.
In the above video you can actually see and hear the glass
bursting out of the windows of the observation booth when the
shock wave hits. It actually knocks the camera out of this man's
hands as well.
In the video to the right here --------------->
You can see an example of what you would see
just before you no longer saw anything again. It is
very quick. The middle part of this video is the
afterburner lighting the JP-54 as it comes out of the
dump valve on the rear of the aircraft between the
engines.
UFO SIGHTINGS = Fire Balls? (funny huh?)
